No more edge rushers. The best thing the Jets could do to improve their D is to get a REAL OC. If the Jets have a competent, creative offense, stop going 4 and out most of the time & give the D a chance to rest, they will have one of the top 3 Defenses in the league, maybe even #1, and go to the Superbowl.

I do understand obsession with edge rushers but enough already ! What I saw even last year, with as good as the D was, we were vulnerable to the run up the middle; I’m talking sometimes 10+ yds a shot. If you want depth that’s what you need. Pass rushers can only pin their ears back when the offense is forced to pass not if 2nd and 1, etc. Also with a stout front against the run forcing double teams rushers with get freed up more easily.

I understand the need and I know the options are few but why do we keep picking up the walking wounded to backup other suspect players. What exactly do line coaches do if not to turn young healthy prospects into viable starters or at the very least backups?

It's an interesting scenario but I would say no. He did NOT play at a high level at guard. He was considered a borderline bust with the Cowboys as a guard. He had his moments but he was also benched in 2 seasons and tore his ACL while in Dallas. As a center for the Fins he played much better. If he signed on some lowball deal because of his injury I would only want him at center but most back up IOL need to have position versatility but I would not want him playing guard at all.

personally i think we can extend MC2 for 3 yrs and then bandaid reed just for 2025 that way hes out the door before sauce gets really expensive....we havent went "all-in" in any other regard so this minor bump to longterm finances can be afforded...keeping all 3 together for 1 more yr will be WELL worth it...i mean i dont envy breaking them up in the middle of a championship window and reed also sounds like hed be open to the conversation before seeking the bag @ 29 yrs old..u just cant keep reed beyond 2025 imo

These reporters work for the agents

Saleh is a terrific defensive line coach and developer of talent there. He’s possibly a great defensive coordinator but his body of work there was brief at SF and his immediate predecessor did at least as well and is now a playoff head coach at Houston. So yeah, I’m not sold on Saleh as a head coach.

I think it is a false narrative that the Jets cannot re-sign Reed and Carter. With the salary cap increasing, I think you can get both and still address the needs of the 2022 class.

Fingers crossed

Makes me wonder how much of Douglas' strategy in signing these veteran OL's was to compensate for an extremely weak offensive coaching staff which has been held hostage by Rodgers. With a 40 yr. old QB, who is also the de facto play caller, Jets are very vulnerable. It's likely that Rodgers will play more than one series next season, but it's unlikely he'll play 17 games, either. When Rodgers does go down, even with a better backup, it will again expose their glaring weakness.

Let the new GM fix the problem. That's what Rodgers is good at.

I think because most of us were caught up on Brock Bowers we seriously missed out on the fact that we drafted an elite offensive talent! I get it, skill positions is what sells tickets so we talk more about a player like Corley, but our best player drafted was Olu!

I hope he will be better. Because the Jets botched this position in the offseason. Riddick is unsigned, and they traded Huff for nothing.
